A statement by GUE/NGL President Gabi Zimmer:

 

GUE/NGL supports the effort by the EU to agree measures in the face of Turkey’s continuing violations in the Exclusive Economic Zone of the Republic of Cyprus. We ask the European Council to take effective measures in order to bring about an end to Turkey’s provocations. Ending the provocations would contribute to creating conditions for the resumption of talks for the solution of the Cyprus problem.
